Year 3 Class 10 Newsletter 11th December 2017

Date: 10th Dec 2017 @ 2:57pm

Dear Parent(s)/Carers,

The build up to Christmas is in full swing and the children are still working hard and learning lots.  We've had a great week and completed some super work that the children are proud of.

During English we wrote the opening and middle part of our flashbacks based on Stone Age Boy.  The children worked hard to really improve their writing and include plenty of detail, speech, description and much more. We will be completing these stories this week and publishing them in our topic books.  The children are so proud of their work so far!

We've improved our multiplication skills this week and even had time on to further develop our multiplication efficiency.  The children are really enjoying the website and posting their scores on our website - thank you for encouraging them.

The children created their own version of a timeline this week which took a lot of concentration and hard work.  We also published our own work on Stone Age houses.  This week we will be learning about the different tools they used to hunt and build their homes.

During RE we have been making advent promises and discussing why we are preparing for Christmas at this time of advent.  This week we will learn about the birth of Jesus and the Christmas story.  This will link beautifully with our Year 3 performance which we are currently rehearsing.  Thank you for supporting the children to learn lines and songs.  A letter will come home this week with the information you will need if you would like to come and watch the performance.

Our Christmas part will be on Tuesday 19th December and the children are welcome to come in their own clothes.  We will be back in uniform on our last day of term on Wednesday 20th December.  A letter will come home this week detailing the whole day.

We will be performing on our guitars on Monday 11th December around 10.00am - you are most welcome to come and see what we've been learning this term.

This will be the last letter for this term and I will be writnig to you in the first week back, so keep your eyes on the school website for updates.  In the meantime, have a wonderful Christmas, a happy New Year and I'll see you all in 2018.

Thank you for your continued support.
