Year 3 Class 10 Newsletter 11th June 2018

Date: 10th Jun 2018 @ 8:39am

Dear Parents,

Even though we only had four days together we seemed to get through a huge amount of learning.  The children clearly enjoyed their half term and were ready for learning.

We started the week with writing a poem about animals.  The children enjoyed the challenge of describing the lion and making it come alive with words.  The children even learned a poem and performed them for the rest of the class in the beautiful sunshine.  We will look at different types of poems this week and create a shape poem.

During maths we started to learn all about shape and space.  The children learned about clockwise and anti-clockwise turns and we started to look at angles within shapes.  You could help by looking for shapes in the real world and spotting right angles.

During RE we created our front cover for our final topic and the children really impressed me with their water colouring skills.  This week we will continue to think about what it's like to be a Christian.

The children are getting ready for Sports Day and will have an extra PE lesson to help us get organised.  Please make sure that the children have their PE kits in school at all time.  I've been really impressed with the children's attitude to sport this year.

Homework books came home again on Friday. Please make sure these are completed by Wednesday and handed back into school.  Spellings will come home on Monday as normal this week - please encourage your children to learn these words.

During Science this week we spent time playing in a car!  Yes, we had a huge pedal car in school this week and the children enjoyed learning all about how it worked and what forces were needed to drive it.  This week we'll investigate friction and what affect it has on our world.

Thank you for your continued support,

Mr Chris Waterworth
