Year 3 Class 10 Newsletter 18th June 2018

Date: 16th Jun 2018 @ 8:24am

Dear Parents,

It's been another busy week in Class 10 and the children have been working so hard.

During RE we learned about the story of The Good Samaritan and how we can use this message in our own lives.  We discussed how we can love our neighbours and take care of each and every one.  This week we will learn about how St Paul had to learn how to be a Christian.

The children enjoyed learning about how similes can further develop their writing and really bring poetry to life.  They started by learning new adjectives and then using them to help write simile sentences.  Finally the children wrote a Guess Who poem and the class had to guess which animal they were describing. This week we will be starting to learn the story The Day the Crayons Quit and learning how to write persuasively.

We enjoyed learning about vertical and horizontal lines and spotting them in all sorts of drawings and shapes.  How many can they spot on the way to school?  This week we will start to learn about 3D shapes and describing their properties.

The children loved riding in our toy car this week and learning all about how friction affects everything on our planet.  We discovered that the rougher the surface, the more friction acts on the objects.  This week we will start to look at magnets and how we use them in everyday life.

It's our Sports Day on Wednesday, so please ensure that the children have their PE kit for the day.  You are more than welcome to come along and watch - we begin at 9.15am.  See you there!

We will still swim on Wednesday after Sports Day, so please ensure your child has their swimming kit.

Please, please, please come and see our school Art Exhibition on July 5th - I know the children are very excited to see what their artwork will look like when it is framed and on display.

Thank you for your continued support,

Mr Chris Waterworth
