Year 3 Class 10 Newsletter 4th June 2018

Date: 3rd Jun 2018 @ 7:27am

Dear Parents,

Welcome back to our final half term together.  I can't believe I'm writing that!  Doesn't time fly when you're having fun?

We start this week by spending time learning all about poetry and finding out the best way to perform for an audience and keep them entertained.  The children will learn a poem or two and then perform it.  Next week we will write our own shape poems - can you find and share any poetry with your child?

During maths we will continue to focus on measure and using different measures.  We will then start learning all about angles and areas of shapes.  The children still need to learn their times tables each week, so please encourage them to practise.

During RE we will look start to reflect on what it is like to be a Christian and how we can use the teachings of Jesus to help us live better lives.  What gifts have you got to help others?

The children's focus will move to Science this half term and focus on forces and light.  We will be investigating what forces act upon all of us each day and then start learning all about light.  This week we will learn all about pushes, pulls and stops and what makes things travel further than others.

We will continue swimming this half term on Wednesday's, but could you please make sure the children have their PE kit in school as we have Sports Day coming up and we will need to practise for the day.

Homework will come home again this Friday, please make sure this is completed and brought back into school by the following Wednesday. Spellings will come home each Monday to be tested on Friday's.

If you have any further questions, please get in touch.

Thank you for your continued support,

Mr Chris Waterworth
