Year 3 Class 11 Newsletter 5th November 2018

Date: 4th Nov 2018 @ 9:09am

Dear Parents,

Welcome back!  Where did the last week go? I'm feeling refreshed and ready to enjoy this next busy half term.  I hope you've all had time to relax with your wonderful children this week.

We begin our new half term by learning about how important Mary, The Mother of God really is to us all.  The children will be learning stories about Mary and how she is always with us through everything we do.  This is a great time of the year to learning about her.

During English we start our new book 'Stone Age Boy' linked to our topic on The Stone Age.  It's a fantastic story where the children will learn to write adventure stories, letters and learn so much about The Stone Age.  I really can't wait to share the book with the children.

We continue our learning on addition and subtraction and then in a few weeks we will be learning about multiplication and division.  The children must keep learning their tables at home!  This week is a certificate week and the children will be tested on Friday.

We will also be learning about Remembrance Day this week which will culminate in our class assembly on Friday.  You are all welcome to attend on Friday at 9.10am.  Please come and support the children this week.  Your child will have a line or two to practise this week; please give them a helping hand.

The children will complete some Cave Paintings this week to kick off our learning about The Stone Age.  This topic is a great one of discovery and learning about our ancient past.  Have a look here to share some amazing facts with your children - The Stone Age

Homework will continue to come home on Friday's and it will be due in the following Wednesday.  The children will have their spellings as usual to learn over the week and then tested on Friday.

We'll be adding our new books to our library this week.  The children are really looking forward to seeing so many new books.  Please keep reading with your children even though they sometimes want to read on their own.

Thank you for coming along to Parents' Evening, it was so lovely to meet you all and share the wonderful work that the children have completed already.  If you ever need anything then please make sure you come and see me when you can.

Thank you for your continued support,

Mr Chris Waterworth
