Class 11 Year 3 2017 - 2018

Mrs Messenger

Welcome to 2018!

We have a busy term ahead. Our new topic is called:

'What do we need to grow'. It is a science based topic where we wil be learning all about our bodies- particularly the skeleton and muscles. We will also explore how plants grow and what they need to grow well.

In English we are starting with a poetry unit. We will then be reading and writing stories based on Fantastic Mr Fox.

In Maths we are continuing our work on multiplication and division- we are learning the compact written methods. It is important to keep learning your times tables. We are focusing on 5x and 4x tables for the first three weeks. Each Monday we will complete a timed speed test, to track our progress.

Homework continues to be given out on Thursdays and is due in by the next Wednesday. Please look for your homework books if you have not brought them into school since Christmas! Spellings will also be given out every Monday with the test being on Friday. Learning your spellings is key to improvement in writing. So please spend time learning these as well.
