Summer Term 2018

Summer has arrived!

Our topic work continues to focus on the Romans, but with a particular focus on Chester.

We will be looking in more detail at maps and learning to follow grid references. As part of our work we have planned a visit to the Chester Deva Museum, letters will be out shortly. This gives a really good insight into Roman life and we even get to march as Romans around the streets of Chester.

Our science work also continues on plants as we are now investigating how water is transported up the roots!

Our English work is focused around the story The Hodgeheg for the half term. We will be developing our sentence structures and non-fiction writing about hedgehogs.

The highlight of our week however is our swimming lessons on Wednesdays. The children were absolutely fantastic in their first lesson and took everything in their stride this week. We even have some super swimmers who will be heading to the big pool next week! Others will be continuing to gain confidence in the shallow water. Thankyou to everyone for being so organised with your goggles and letters! It all ran extremely smoothly!!

Our guitar lessons continue on Mondays and there is now the opportunity for the children to take part in lunch time guitar clubs as well. ( Letters have come home about this.)

So we have a busy term ahead! For more information please view the curriculum map.

Please remember hats and water bottles when the weather is warm and sunny.

Thankyou

Mrs N Messenger
