Class 12 Year 3 2017 - 2018

Mr Trude

 Class 12

A warm welcome to Year 3 - Class 12

I hope you have had a  lovely summer holiday and I am sure you will be keen to get back to school.

Our theme this first half term is called- What’s under our feet? In this unit, we will be learning about rocks and fossils, as well as volcanoes and earthquakes. We will also be studying Hokusai as an artist and paint our own volcano picture.

In English we will be studying the books of Michael Foreman and work towards writing a story in a similar style. In Maths we will start with a unit on Shape, then move on to Place value and addition and subtraction.

Our RE topic is called ‘The Christian Family’. This topic is designed to develop the children’s knowledge and understanding about the Sacrament of Baptism. We will also explore what it means to belong to a family.

We are also very lucky to be able to provide weekly guitar lessons for our year 3 children, which will start shortly.

This year we have chosen to have a different approach to homework and will be buying text books for the children to work in. More information about this will be sent out to you once the term begins.

Our PE day is on Tuesday, but please bring your PE kit into school and leave it there.

I look forward to seeing you shortly.

Thank you for your continued support.
