Class 20 Year 6 2017 - 2018

Mrs Bevington

Welcome to Class 20's page! smiley

We are now beginning the last part of our SATs preparation and we will be working even harder for the next few weeks.

This term in our History and Geography topic work we will continue studying Ancient Egypt and we will begin our Science topic of Light.

Our English work will continue to be grammar based in preparation for the SATs and we will write an explanation and a story beginning and ending using our new skills and vocab.

In Maths we will continue our work within the four operations and will be especially focussing on honing our arithmetic skills ready for the up-coming SATs tests. We will be developing our problem solving and reasoning skills further using our knowledge of number and we will also be studying some geometry and interpreting data in the form of graphs and diagrams.

Our RE topic is Jesus the Messiah which gives the children a deepening understanding of Jesus and allows them to reflect on what they believe about their faith. They will understand that Jesus is the Messiah and will learn on the final journey that Jesus made to Jerusalem. In addition to this, they will know about, and reflect upon the events of Holy Week and will deepen their understanding of the Resurrection.

As always, children will be bringing homework home each week  and the amount of this may increase as we get closer to May. Of course,  this is all important preparation for them and will help them to tackle to tests with confidence.

Again, a very busy half term ahead and as it is a short half term I am sure it will simply fly by.

Mrs Bevington.
