Class 5 Year 1 2017 - 2018

Mrs Cosby

Mrs Parkinson

Welcome back to the Summer term.

We hope that you had a very happy and holy Easter.

This term we are looking forward to our English work on poetry and rhyme, including learning to perform some traditional chants and songs. After that we will be learning the traditional tale 'Jack and the Beanstalk' and even trying to grow some beanstalks ourselves!

In maths we are beginning to look at multiplication, division and fractions with lots of practical activities. You can practise counting in 2s, 5s and 10s at home too!

Our RE topic is Resurrection and we will share the joy of Jesus rising from the dead on Easter Sunday. We will learn about the coming of the Holy Spirit at Pentecost and reflect on times when our own sadness turned to joy.

Please make sure you have a full PE kit in school all the time, including pumps that fit, as we will be getting outside in the summer sunshine and practising for Sports Day very soon.

Thank you to everyone who came to see us perform our Sing Up Day songs last term. You can click on the coloured areas below to listen to our songs.

Thank you.
