Class 9 Year 2 2018 - 2019

Miss Mayers

Welcome to Class 9's homepage.

We have such a busy and exciting half term together. The children have all settled well into the daily rountine of year 2 and I am excited for our adveture together. Over the new few weeks, we will be reading the tales of Peter Rabbit by Beatrix Potter and focussing our writing on sentence structure and expanded noun phrases. During our Maths lessons we will be looking at numbers to 100 within various activities such as greater than, less than and equal to, number lines and ordering numbers before moving on to addition and subtraction.

Our Science topic is called 'Taking Care' and we will be noticing that animals, including humans, have offspring which grow into adults. Towards the end of the term we will be looking at creating a healthy plate which will involve making a fruity animal.

Just a reminder, our P.E days will be on a Monday afternoon.

Homework will be given out on a Friday and is due to be handed in the following Wednesday. Weekly spellings will be put into children's Spelling Practise books every Friday. It is very important that these are practised regularly alongside the Year 1 and 2 common exception words. A copy of which can be found in the files section of this page.

Further details of our topics and objectives for this half term can be found in the attached Curriculum Map.

Many thanks for your continued support.
