Class 9 Year 2 2018 - 2019

Miss Mayers

Welcome to Class 9's homepage.

We have such a busy and exciting half term together. Over the next few weeks, we will be reading a traditional story, Jack and the Beanstalk where we will be looking at changing some of they key characteristics of the journey story such as the giant. We will also be focussing our writing on describing the setting as well as the characters in the story whilst looking at expanded noun phrases, superlatives and comparatives. During our Maths lessons we will be looking at division and fractions.

Our Science Topic is called 'Shaping Up' and we will be applying our skills by completing and experimenting on some exciting practical activites such as identifying and comparing materials. We will also be looking at what propertys allow a material to change. Lots of fun investigations!

Just a reminder, our P.E days will be on a Monday afternoon.

Homework will be given out on a Friday and is due to be handed in the following Wednesday. Weekly spellings will be put into children's Spelling Practise books every Friday. It is very important that these are practised regularly alongside the Year 1 and 2 common exception words. A copy of which can be found in the files section of this page.

Further details of our topics and objectives for this half term can be found in the attached Curriculum Map.

Many thanks for your continued support.
