Local MP Laura Smith visits Year 5 and 6

On Friday 10th November, as part of our British Values days, Year 5 and 6 children were treated to a visit from our local MP, Laura Smith. The children prepared for her visit by thinking of questions they would like to ask her, based on what they had learned about Parliament and democracy. The questions were then given to the School Council, who picked their favourites, and those children whose questions were chosen had the opportunity to ask them to Laura Smith in an assembly on Friday afternoon. We had a fantastic range of questions and Laura was very impressed with the children's knowledge, behaviour and enthusiasm. We clearly have some budding politicians in Year 5 and 6! Well done to all of the children for their fabulous work and effort during our British Values days.
