PGL, by Mrs Bevington

Date: 25th Nov 2015 @ 4:23pm

On Wednesday 29-09-2015, 5 members of staff and 62 very excited year 6 children embarked on their annual residential trip to PGL Caythorpe Court in Lincolnshire We stayed from Wednesday to Friday and were involved in many adventurous and exciting activities, most of which many of the children hadn’t experienced before. These included an aerial obstacle course, wall climbing, rifle shooting, raft building, trapeze, problem solving, survival training, camp fire, capture the flag and tunnel trails. All the activities were extremely well organised by enthusiastic and encouraging staff and were all undertaken with the strictest safety measures. The PGL staff built the children’s confidence and helped them overcome many apprehensive moments and achieve personal goals. It was amazing to see some of the children in a completely different light from day to day within the classroom, both working in teams and independently. On  the whole the three days were a resounding success and we were extremely proud of our pupils as they behaved in an exemplary way, showing good manners and courtesy where ever they went, often receiving compliments from the PGL staff. Having these children in our care is an honour and privilege and being able to watch them grow and flourish in independence and character is very rewarding indeed.
