Welcome to Class 12

Welcome to our new Class webpage!

After a challenging six months, we are so excited to be back at school!

We have all settled in well so far, so please find below some curriculum and class organisation information:

Our topic for this term is ‘What’s Beneath Our Feet?’

We will be doing Athletics in P.E. Our P.E. day is Tuesday and children must please bring their kits in order to be able to access these important lessons fully. Kits can be taken home at the end of each week and returned to school, washed, the following week. Please also keep a regular check on pumps as little feet have a tendency to become bigger feet without us noticing.

Children will be expected to read at least three times a week at home, to an adult, and evidence of this can be entered on the child’s portfolio on Class Dojo. This can be a quick note or some video or photographic evidence. Children may change their books as and when they are completed. Please don’t continue to battle with a book they are not enjoying, just change it. There is nothing worse than wading through a book that isn’t your type.

Spelling tests take place on Friday of each week and new spelling words to learn for the test will be sent home on Monday of each week.
Times tables tests take place on Friday too. Logging in to Times Table Rock Stars is essential to ensure that children are progressing through their learning of the times tables and developing quick and accurate recall of these.

We are getting used to communicating with Parents through our Class Do-Jo system, both for individual contact and for school-wide information. Because teachers have got lots to do, Mrs Fau-Goodwin has introduced ‘office hours’ for the Do Jo system which means that I will be unable to respond to messages over weekends, during school holiday periods, during direct teaching sessions, after 5.00pm or prior to 8.15am.
