Class 6 Year 1 2019 – 2020
Welcome to Class 6!
We hope that you have all had a wonderful half term break and are feeling refreshed and are looking forward to another exciting half term in Class 6.
In English this half term we will continue to look at some exciting new stories such as ‘The Three Billy Goats Gruff’ and ‘Jasper’s Beanstalk’ and use these stories to help us continue to learn important skills in our writing.
In Maths this half term we will be looking at division, thinking about sharing and making equal groups as well as moving onto other topics such as finding half and quarters of shapes and numbers.
Our topic this half term is ‘Changes’ where we will be looking at how Crewe and transport in Crewe has changed throughout the years.
In our RE lessons, our theme this half term is ‘Resurrection’ where we will think about the resurrection of Jesus and its message to us.
The children will continue have access to a wide range of colour banded books which they can choose and change within the classroom when they need a new book. Please make sure that your child is reading every day and that any reading completed at home is recorded in their reading diaries.
PE lessons continue to be on a Tuesday afternoon, please make sure your child has a PE kit (indoor and outdoor) in school. Homework will be given out in Homework books on a Friday and to be returned by Wednesday.
Class 6s’ updated curriculum map is available on our class page below, which will give further information on all of the above.
I am looking forward to this wonderful next half term in year 1 and all the excting times ahead.
Many thanks for all your continued support.
Miss Bond and Mrs Owen
