Welcome to our website. We hope you find it both informative and interactive as well as an accurate reflection of the values and ethos of our school.
St Mary’s Catholic Primary School and Nursery is a successful, vibrant community where children come first. We have a highly motivated, resourceful and dedicated team of staff and governors who are committed to and care about the needs and well-being of every child.
We want our children to be happy at school and learning to be interesting, motivating and challenging. All staff set high expectations and provide our children with every opportunity to be happy, confident and independent learners. We work closely with parents to ensure this happens and recognise the importance of good communication between home and school.
Within our school site, we are fortunate to have our own large playing field, a multi-use games area (MUGA), a woodland area (Shady Hollow) a trim trail, a peace garden, three playgrounds and many areas in and around the school to explore. Our children’s journey begins in our Nursery, emphasising our belief in the importance of continuity in educational development. Staff from all Key Stages meet to discuss and carefully organise transition. Continuity and consistency of provision is encouraged to ensure our children feel secure and safe.
Our aim is to help our children reach their full potential and develop their social, moral and spiritual awareness. In addition, we encourage each child to take part in our extensive range of extra-curricular activities. It is our intention to educate and develop qualities and skills together with a love of learning in our children, which will last a lifetime!
We have many plans for the future and we will keep you up to date with events and news as they happen. St Mary’s is a calm, stimulating learning environment where good behaviour and mutual respect is modelled by everyone, and where everyone is valued.
We hope you find the information on our website useful, and that it will help us to form a successful, sustained partnership with you in your child’s education.
