Class 10 Year 3 2018 - 2019

Mr Waterworth

Mr Waterworth

Hello and welcome to Class 10's webpage.  I'm Mr Waterworth and I'm the class teacher in Year 3, class 10.

This half term we will be exploring Forces and Light.  The children will learn all about the forces acting upon us every day and also look at how light travels.  We'll be spending time investigating and planning experiments as well as learning important facts.

During our English sessions we will study and perform various poems and learn how to write persuasively for a specific audience.

Our maths will concentrate on measures including capacity.  The children will use measuring equipment and learn how to convert from cms to mm.

During RE we will reflect on what it is like to be a Christian.  We will think about what Jesus teaches us about being a good Christian, to know that St Paul had to learn how to be  Christian, and how people can use their gifts to help others.

PE will be on a Wednesday afternoon - please ensure the children have the correct PE kit in school at all times.  We will continue to swim this term, so the children will need their swimming kits.

Homework will come home on Friday's and will need to be completed by the following Wednesday - please look inside the covers to see which pages you need to complete with your children.  There will also be spellings to learn each week - these will come home on a Monday and will be tested on a Friday.

Please, please, please encourage your children to read each night and leave a comment in their reading diaries.  They will need these books every day, as the children read every day in class.

There is so much more to tell you, but I will write a short newsletter each week to keep you up to date.

If you have any questions, please get in touch,

Mr Chris Waterworth
